Platform Design
If the staircase span is large (more than 12 steps), a middle platform (with a size of ≥ 1.5m × 1.5m) should be set up, in accordance with building regulations.
The platform can also serve as a rest area or decorative area, enhancing practicality.
Handrails and decorations
Handrails should have a width of ≥ 8cm, and the inner side distance from the steps should be ≤ 10cm (to prevent hand entrapment).
Handrails and railings may occupy an additional 5-10cm of space.
Furniture and Passage
Ensure there is sufficient space around the staircase for passage (such as for wheelchairs or furniture transportation), and avoid placing them closely against the furniture.
Small-sized apartment (height 2.6 meters, area 8 square meters)
Rotating staircase with a radius of 1 meter and 12 steps, diameter approximately 2 meters, requires a space of 2.5m × 2.5m to be reserved.
Large-sized apartment (height 3 meters, area 15 square meters)
Arc-shaped staircase with a radius of 1.5 meters and a diameter of 3 meters, requires a space of 3.5m × 3.5m to be reserved. It can be combined with straight running sections and platforms.
