How to improve the stability of carbon steel staircase stringer

1. Optimization design

Adopting a variable cross-section design, the cross-sectional dimensions of the profiles are increased in areas with greater load-bearing capacity (such as platforms).
The finite element analysis (FEA) is used to simulate the force and optimize the node construction.

2. Standardize the construction process

Non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic flaw detection) is required after welding to ensure that the weld grade complies with the GB/T 11345 standard.
Bolt connections should be tightened according to the specified torque values, and spring washers should be added to prevent loosening.

3. Maintenance routine

Check the condition of the anti-corrosion coating every two years and repair any local damaged areas in a timely manner.
Check whether the bolts at the connection points are loose and whether there are cracks at the welding parts

4. Common Problems and Solutions

Question 1: The steps are shaking
Reason: The spacing of the keel is too large or the connection is not firm.
Solution: Encrypt the support keel and reinforce it with full welding or high-strength bolts.

Question 2: Local deformation
Reason: Insufficient material thickness or excessive load.
Solution: Replace with higher-specification profiles (such as upgrading from Q235 to Q345 steel), or add transverse reinforcing ribs.

Question 3: Rust leads to a decrease in strength
Solution: Replace the damaged parts of the galvanized layer, spray anti-rust paint, and replace the entire layer when severely rusted.
