1. Main points of curved stairs construction
Structural safety: The arc section needs to be reinforced with support, such as embedded steel beams or concrete cores, to ensure load-bearing capacity.
Step size: Follow the ergonomics, step height is recommended 15-18 cm, depth 28-30 cm, avoid too high or too deep.
Slope control: Usually the slope is between 20°-45°, the larger the radius, the slower the slope, and the more comfortable the walking.
2. Matters need attention
Cost: Customized design and processing may result in high budgets and require advance planning.
Compliance: must comply with local building safety standards, such as step anti-slip grade, handrail height (usually ≥90 cm).
Maintenance: Glass or metal materials should be cleaned and maintained regularly, and wood should be treated with moisture.
3. Example calculation (number of steps)
Known conditions: height 3 meters, step height 17 cm.
Calculation steps: The total number of steps = layer height ÷ single step height ≈ 300cm ÷ 17cm ≈ 18.
Arc circumference: If the radius is 2 meters, the central Angle θ= the total horizontal projection length of the staircase ÷ radius, which needs to be adjusted according to the specific design.
